Wealthy New Yorkers, Asked To Butt Out

The Oregonion is asking wealthy New York magnates to butt out of Oregon politics.

The Oregonian's owners - billionaire publishing magnate brothers named Newhouse - sit in offices in Manhattan and Washington, D.C., watching at a comfortable distance the multi-million dollar lab experiment in media bias they are sponsoring in Oregon. They are waiting to see whether Oregon voters drown in their negativity.

The bias of the news media is tremendous.

They are so liberal, that they don't even realize that they are so. They think they're moderate.

Loaded terms are commonly found in their pages and shows. The negative cause (which all must hate) "The anti-abortion movement." The positive cause, "The Pro-Choice movement." (Which all must love and respect). Woman's rights... One small, yet significant area of liberal bias in the general news area.

Hold it there, are you saying (or am I confued by your post) that women's rights are a "liberal" cause?
Isn't this 2006?

Readers will also enjoy the TRUE story (with pictures) about the Democratic activist-lawyer arrested in Portland on Halloween as Osama B.L. with a fake gun and an "I LOVE TABOR" sign around his neck. It's a challenge to determine which part of this story - the act or the local censorship - offends the most.

With a launch like this, it looks like The Oregonion may become Oregon's new news source. Dogs make it fresh every day, and thank goodness The Oregonian comes delivered in a handy double-layer bag - it's the most useful part of the publication!

yes, you're confused. the post was about how the media treats women's rights as though they are a liberal cause. for instance, half the people murdered by abortion are women. for most women, having an abortion leaves emotional scars from which they never recover. what about their rights? not much respect for those women's rights in the oregonian.

Its quite clear now that the Oregonian's endorsement of Saxton was synical. The Democraric Party of Oregon has put out the tag line,"44 and no more."

Gee, just coincidentally, that is the exact editorial stance of The Oregonian, when you sum up their editorial positions on the ballot measures.

The most important legislative race in Oregon for Democrats is the Minnis-Brading(Dick) race.

Gee, just coincidentally, The Oregonian strongly endorsed Brading with a 'take no prisoners' editorial, and failed to report his name change.

Finally, the coup de grace is The Oregonian's failure to report on the Kulongoski-Goldscmidt "did the Governor know" story.

The Oregonian's circulation has dropped 6.8%, they will only get the message if circulation continues to drop. I like to read a newspaper in the morning, I like the physical aspect of going through the morning paper with my coffee, but no more. I will not be an enabler to the jounalistic fraud put out by The Oregonian every morning.

Yep, I'd say the future looks bright for The Oregonion, as opposed to the increasingly bleak outlook for The Oregonian.

BTW, the lawyer/activist has been in the news several times in the past; evidently he just loves publicity.

The New York connection demonstrates the hypocricy which infiltrates The Oregonian at every level. The Oregonian decries outside money and influence upon Oregon's elections, but they are owned by outsiders. The Oregonian supports a tax and regulation environment in Oregon that promotes outside companies, rather than growing Oregon companies. Outside companies produce a wage scale lower than the national average.

Of course, then we need a big government to make up the difference, and leave farther behind a pioneering spirit of individual inginuity.

Timber, fishing, mining, and agriculture are quaint in the eyes of The Oregonian. Rural Oregonians lives depend on them.

The 800 pound gorilla of outsiders here in Oregon is The Oregonian. I wish it would go back to The Empire State Building and hang where it belongs.

Taxes, don't forget The Oregonian is supporting every tax, or tax increase on the ballot, and you got to go back a long way to find where The Oregonian has ever advocated against a tax, or tax increase.

The leadership of the Democratic Party also has the same exact record in regards to taxes. Paint me blue over at The Oregonian, and raise my taxes every chance we can is the motto, No discussion is necessary, as it is understood as surely as everybody there knows the check comes from New York City.

Democrat leadership and The Oregonian joined at the political hip.
