Uh oh Obama lying about Ayers

For the WTF file. Just yesterday the Obama line about Ayers was they didn't know who Ayers was. Well that has changed as the Obama spokesperson, David Axlerod's new tune is:

"It was sometime after their first meeting that he became aware of it. I don’t know the exact moment..."No one is suggesting he never knew," Axelrod said.

That from Politico. Not exactly a right wing publication either. Now we know why the Obama blog spammers were going crazy yesterday. The know this has the potential to grow.

Wow, so the Obama campaign admits he knew Ayers bombed the Pentagon, but he still sought his advice and counsel over his political career. Like the skin of an onion....

Ahem --

"On Wednesday morning, John McCain's campaign released a list of 100 former ambassadors endorsing the GOP presidential nominee.

Second on the list, though her name is misspelled, is Leonore Annenberg, currently the president and chairman of the Annenberg Foundation and widow of ambassador and philanthropist Walter Annenberg. Ms. Annenberg was herself the "chief of protocol" at the State Department under President Reagan.

If the last name sounds familiar, it's because it also graces the name of the Chicago education board where Barack Obama and William Ayers sat in the room six times together.

In recent days, the McCain-Palin ticket (and particularly Palin) has faulted Obama for having served on that board with Ayers, who was a founding member of the radical 60's Weather Underground group when Obama was in grade school.

Since then, however, Ayers has been rehabilitated in Chicago society, carving out a niche in education circles. As a former Republican representative in Illinois told NPR on Monday, smearing Obama for his board association with Ayers is "nonsensical."

"It was never a concern by any of us in the Chicago school reform movement that he had led a fugitive life years earlier ... It's ridiculous," Republican Rep. Diana Nelson said. "There is no reason at all to smear Barack Obama with this association. It's nonsensical, and it just makes me crazy. It's so silly."

Separate calls to the Pennsylvania and California offices of the Annenberg Foundation were not immediately returned Wednesday morning."

How dare John McCain accept the recommendation from someone who palls around with terrorists!

Oh, The Shame.

(chuckle)

Coyote,
Have you heard that McCain has his own Ayers connection? Yeah, apparently, besides what Murphybat is saying McCain received donations from Arnold R. Weber.
Arnold R. Weber who was President of Northwestern University (1985-1994) and the University of Colorado, a faculty member at U of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon, president of the Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago (the leading business and civic organization in the metropolitan area) from 1995-1999, served on the boards of many corporations, and as an economic adviser/ presidential appointee in the Nixon Administration, WAS ALSO a member of the founding Board of Directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge in 1995, alongside Barack Obama, overseeing implementation of the grant project written, applied for and obtained by William Ayers, AND contributed $1000 to John McCain's presidential campaign on May 28, 2008

Yah right. Good luck with that one.

Of course it was CNN who did the story on Obama's connection to Ayers.

On how Ayers and Obama used to sit on boards together (and thus probably go out to lunch and dinner together.)

On how Obama asked Ayers to have his campaign kickoff party at Ayers' home.

So perhaps you will want to run along over there and try to peddle your string cheese over there.
