Michelle Obama and her $1,000 hand bag

First the manufacturer said it was their $6,000 model. Then the White House came out and said "no no no... it is not the $6k model! it is the much less expensive $875 dollar 'clutch'."
And this from the administration that can't get it's story right on the economy nor on foreign affairs/Iran?
Nonetheless how many of you can afford to buy your wife an $875 dollar "clutch?" Is it time for the media to do an in depth search into how much Michelle Obama's wardrobe costs?
While that is going on I guess the American people can eat some cake?

Like how Obama is looking at underage female butts, Michelle's 1K handbag is quite...obvious.
Funny that the press cares far, far less about Michelle Obama's "could feed hundreds of people from the dollar menu" handbags than they cared about Sarah Palin's wardrobe budget...
Are we thinking that Mrs. Obama's handbag was purchased by:
1. Tax dollars,
2. Campaign contributions solicited from the general public,
or
3. Personal money
?
I just want to know what the insinuation is here before we get into a discussion.
So, assuming Ms. Obama did not spend public money or political contributions (as Palin did), what is the objection? Are the R's prepared to tell us what the acceptable cost of a handbag is? And how, exactly, would you propose to enforce that policy? Restrictions on purchases?
If you believe that people should be free to make and spend money freely without others telling them its ok or not, then walk the talk.
Of course, if taxpayers are funding this sort of purchase (other than through the president's salary, of course, which is the Obama's money to spend as they see fit), then go for it.
Oh come off it anon 8:56. None of that matters, even if the Obamas are 100% creatures of taxpayer/insider largesse.
What really matters is the kind of example the President and First Lady set for ordinary Americans. Like expensive handbags, $100/lb Kobe beef for all their friends at everynight White House parties, acting like Emperors instead of a public servants.
Oops, I almost forgot. We work for the Obamas. They don't work for us. So now, I gotta get back to the plantation, to earn some of that money for them.
After all, the new motto for the United States of Obama is "To each according to his need, from each according to his ability." And they need a lot.
A bit off topic, but Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan has offered the R's a prescription for revival on the WSJ. Here's the link:

It's Democrats who need a strategy for getting their party back from the leftwing and avoid losing in '10 and '12. It's simple. Abandon the anti-jobs, anti-investment agenda.
Michelle parades around with a $1000 handbag and $600 sneakers. Boy, if Laura Bush did that you'd hear nothing but caterwauling from the loony left.
To Dems however, The One is above criticism. He can scold us about being greedy, how we can't drive whatever car we want or heat our homes at any temperature we want.
But his spending of thousands on sundry items is A-OK to the idiot liberals.
Coyote-you are starting to sound like Perez Hilton with all of your interest in the personal lives of others (the Obamas, Sam Adams, etc.) Are you going to turn your masthead pink?
Barry is part of the DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO CROWD.
Some are just more equal on this liberal animal farm. HG Wells...here we come.
Animal Farm was authored by George Orwell - who was, I might point out, a socialist.
Unless you were deliberately mixing your metaphor.
oh, my bad.
okay how about 1984/animal farm
then both authors get to come to the party.
Also, I have never heard of Orwell being a socialist. You would think he would have not made it look so bad in his book. mmmm...food for thought.
thank you for the correction.
Ummm.. I'm not sure how to break this to you... but both of those were authored by Orwell.
War of the Worlds - that was authored by Wells. :)
Orwell was critiquing the Soviet Union - not socialism. He was very anti-Stalinst, and saw the Soviet Union under Stalin as a perversion of socialist ideals.
Hey folks 1,000 USD a handbag is nothing for some pretty good quality handmade craft handbag if it is not made in China with enslaved employees this is really the basic prize. She is the First Lady she has to wear things that are good looking ! if it is her own money of within the yearly budget allowed for her outfit where is the problem ? They do a good job.
